Out of body experience
I started working at my new job this week after being unemployed for exactly one year. It was an out of body experience to be sure, but the folks are great and it will add a new dimension to my life. My job is also dangerously close to CambridgeSide Galleria and Petco! But I’m grateful to be employed after getting my first extension on unemployment and not being certain if I would get a second; scary times. There are continued prayers for those who are still unemployed.
Slowly my mind, spirit and body are shaking off the fog of unemployment; I feel triumphant – what comes to mind is the plane that was landed in the Hudson all passengers safe; a heroic crew. The plane sank but was brought to the surface a while later and it was captured dramatically on film and paraded through the streets during transport. That is what I feel like, brought back to the surface as a testament to crashing, sinking, and rising to tell the story.
I’ve been getting trained on my job duties and doing work in a place that is oh so Cambridge that I got that smug satisfied feeling as the Red Line train went over the bridge like we’re an elite group of folks who work in Cambridge with our smartphones and glasses all looking very pleased with ourselves!
My class didn’t meet this week, but I have work to do on the thesis this weekend. I’m so tired from this week but it’s a good kind of tired, and on Friday my first Blackberry arrived. I’ll have to take a nap and alternate working on my thesis and playing with the Blackberry. My application to graduate has been completed so I’ll be an alumnus before I know it; 3 more classes and I’m done.
For me, the coming week brings a return to my on-campus class, moving into the next phase of the thesis and getting my head around working full-time and school again…
Yay! Congratulations, Ginnette!
I found your site on Google and read a few of your other entires. Nice Stuff. I’m looking forward to reading more from you.
Thanks!
Oh, good for you. But learn to keep your Twitter self out of alignment with far-left political hacks who will drag you into trouble.
At least until you can grow up enough to realize that being far-left is not the mindset of real Americans, and isn’t what got you to where you are now.
Remember this, if nothing else:
